Home Putting Greens for the Pros
We worked with European Tour Pro Andy Sullivan to create his ideal artificial practice putting green at home. Andy Sullivan wanted to create a custom putting green designed for his specific space – he requested a 4 hole course initially constructed with real lawn to help practice from the comfort of his own home.
The Challenge and Solution | Bespoke Outdoor Putting Green Design
The was a challenging a build due to the fact that the garden sloped away at quite an angle, making spacing difficult. To give the client a decent sized putting green, we instead built up the front with sleepers, enabling us to fit a comfortable 4 holes into the area, creating a generous putting area for at – home practice. During the time we constructed the green, Mr. Sullivan then decided to have the whole lawn changed to artificial putting grass so he could chip from all different positions to the green.
The Results | A Custom Designed All-weather Home Putting Green
This resulted in a low-maintenance, yet high quality putting green that is both durable and weather resistant – an ideal space for pro-level practice. Although we cannot claim all the glory with 3 Major Tour wins in 2015… the new artificial green certainly has not harmed his game.
